Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions govern your access to and use of the iTaxApp mobile application and related services.
1. About iTaxApp
iTaxApp (“iTax”, “we”, “us” or “our”) is a mobile application intended to support business sales and tax-related workflows. Depending on your account and configuration, features may include point-of-sale (POS) tools, receipt issuance, transaction records, Z report generation, submission of reports to the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA), and viewing previous report statuses.

2. Acceptance of these terms
By creating an account, accessing, or using iTaxApp, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and the accompanying Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app. If you use iTaxApp on behalf of a business, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these terms for that business.
3. Eligibility and account security
- You must provide accurate, current, and complete account and business information and keep it updated.
- You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for activity performed through your account, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
- Do not share passwords, bypass access controls, or allow unauthorised persons to use your account.
- Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access or a security incident.
- We may request reasonable verification to protect accounts and tax-related records.
4. Permitted use
You may use iTaxApp only for lawful business purposes and in accordance with these terms, applicable tax requirements, and instructions provided by TRA or other competent authorities. You must not:
- Use the app to create false, misleading, duplicate, or fraudulent transaction or tax records.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, systems, APIs, or data.
- Interfere with the app, reverse engineer it except where legally permitted, introduce malicious code, or disrupt other users.
- Use the service in a way that violates another person's rights or applicable law.
5. Receipts, POS transactions and business records
You are responsible for entering accurate item descriptions, quantities, prices, discounts, tax settings, payment details, and other transaction information. Review transaction details before confirming a sale or issuing a receipt. You must ensure that your use of iTaxApp complies with applicable invoicing, fiscal device, tax, accounting, and record-keeping obligations.
iTaxApp is a software tool. Unless expressly agreed in writing, we do not act as your accountant, tax adviser, payment processor, or legal adviser, and the app does not replace your obligation to verify your tax position and business records.
6. Z reports and TRA integration
Where enabled and correctly configured, iTaxApp may generate Z reports and transmit relevant information to TRA or an authorised tax system. Automated submission depends on factors such as network connectivity, service availability, valid configuration, credentials, and responses from external systems.
- Check report status and acknowledgements; do not assume a report was successfully received solely because you pressed a submit button.
- If a report fails, remains pending, or returns an error, follow the displayed guidance and applicable TRA procedures.
- Keep required records and reconcile reports against your business transactions.
- Do not use the app to evade taxes or bypass required reporting.
TRA is an independent public authority. iTaxApp is not TRA and should not be understood as an official TRA service unless the operator has explicit authorisation to make that representation. External systems, requirements, and interfaces may change.
7. Availability, updates and changes
We aim to keep iTaxApp available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. Maintenance, connectivity problems, device issues, third-party outages, or changes to external systems may affect availability or reporting. We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue features where reasonably necessary, subject to applicable law and any separate agreement.
8. Fees and third-party services
Any applicable subscription, service fee, or in-app purchase will be disclosed through the relevant channel before it is charged. If no fee is presented, this clause does not create a fee by itself. The app may rely on third-party infrastructure or services, which may have their own terms and privacy notices. We are not responsible for third-party services beyond responsibilities imposed by applicable law or a separate agreement.
9. Data and privacy
Our processing of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy. You must have the right and lawful authority to enter personal information about customers, staff, or other individuals into the app. Do not collect or enter information that is unnecessary for your lawful business purposes.
10. Intellectual property
The app, its design, branding, software, and related materials are owned by or licensed to the operator and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app for its intended purpose while you comply with these terms. You retain rights in your own business data, subject to applicable law and any necessary rights to operate the service.
11. Suspension and account closure
We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate suspected fraud or security risks, comply with law, respond to misuse, or address a material breach of these terms. Where appropriate and legally permitted, we will provide notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue. You may stop using the app and request account closure by contacting [Insert support email].
Closing an account does not automatically erase records that must be retained for tax, accounting, security, dispute-resolution, or other legal purposes. See the Privacy Policy for further information.
12. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, iTaxApp is provided on an “as available” basis. We do not guarantee that every receipt, report, or submission will be accepted by an external system, or that the app will be free from errors or interruptions. You remain responsible for checking records, meeting filing deadlines, and complying with your legal obligations.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by law. To the extent permitted by law, the operator will not be liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the app, external system outages, inaccurate information entered by users, or failures caused by circumstances outside the operator’s reasonable control.
13. Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms as the service or legal requirements change. We will update the “Last updated” date and provide notice of material changes where required. Continued use after updated terms take effect constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are intended to be interpreted in accordance with the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania, subject to any mandatory legal requirements. Disputes should first be raised with us using the contact details below so the parties can attempt to resolve them in good faith. Nothing in this clause removes any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
